We spent the day cleaning and organizing the MH. We’ve changed our mode of travel and find ourselves relaxing and not rushing so much. By 5 PM we were ready to leave for our adventure at the Grand Ole Opry.

We were lucky to get tickets for the Saturday night show and even luckier to get great seats.
We were 12 rows back from the stage so had a great view of the singers. In fact, we got lucky and the show top headliners for the night were Carrie Underwood, Scott McCreery, and Brad Paisley. Just happen to know these country music stars and happy to get to hear and see them in person.
Carrie belted out three songs then did her duet with Brad Paisley.
The Stage
Scott McCreery has been my all time favorite since watching him on American Idol last year. He has a tremendous voice and brings new meaning to country music.
Inside the Opry House
This is 91 year old Jimmy Dickens. Still has a great voice and sense of humor.
Love and Theft – two young newcomers with strong voices and a great beat.
Kristen Kelly was the lead in singer after Jimmy Dickens and what a tremendous voice. The entire show was filled with singers and musicians that made you feel they were emoting the music from every cell of their being and that their musical instruments were an extension of their bodies. Gives new meaning to Randy Jackson telling the contestants on Idol they have to “feel the song” in order to connect with the audience.
Brad Paisley was also great and had the audience in an uproar when he began singing the beginning of a the duet he had recorded with Carrie Underwood.
Carrie came out on stage and everyone went wild. The duet was super and a perfect end to a perfect concert.
It was a sold out venue so getting out after the concert was a challenge. Wall to wall people and pouring rain outside.
We got back to the CG around 10 pm and the monsoon rains were upon us. Not sure what Sunday will bring but the tentative plan is to take in the Botanical Gardens and Belmont Mansion.
