We have had many rain storms while away but the rain in the mountains didn’t seem to want to stop at all. It poured again during the night and we woke to a heavy fog.
By 10 am it was clearing nicely so we headed down the mountain . The views were quite lovely.
The mountains looked really pretty as the day cleared.
We’re driving through that little hole?
An example of the wildflowers growing along the Skyline Drive. Because of the exceptionally warm winter weather many of the wildflowers had bloomed early and died.
We arrived at the Appalachian RV Resort around 6 pm. We don’t usually get a CG that late in the evening but we had just boon docked for three days and no Wi Fi. Ron wanted to make plans for New York and I needed to catch up on the laundry.
The CG was a pleasant surprise and quite pretty as CG’s go. We secured a pull-through site so didn’t have to disconnect the car and settled in the for night.
Once we had our internet connection we received an E-mail from Ron’s sister Linda telling us they would be in NYC on Friday the 15th and had tickets to view the 9/11 Memorial. What a coincidence, we planned on being there that day also - if we could get a site at the Liberty Harbor Marina and CG across the Hudson in Jersey City. We wouldn’t know until Thursday morning so we couldn’t make any plan to meet them just yet.
Ron drove about 250 miles making fairly good time. We had a good travel day and were happy to have full hook-ups again. I think we’re getting spoiled.
